I love alberto vargas. He used to make these pinup girls for Playboy in the 1960s. I love his portrayal of female sexuality. I sometimes use his work as inspiration for my own. And now for the age old question: where do we draw the line between ART and PORNOGRAPHY?

good question? what makes it porn and not art or vice versa. i think its a matter of personal opinion first of all. to me, art is anything that is aestetically pleasing so maybe there is no line between the two in some peoples minds?
ReplyDeleteI think what makes it pornography is lack of class.. I guess this question would vary from person to person. Personally for me its art for the sheer fact that it maybe pin up girls but its done with class for one and two its expressive in a sense that is not trashy or disrespectful to women. The fact that you get some of your inspiration from this artist makes a bold and mature statemant on your part! =)
ReplyDeletebad question; you don't
